In Their Footsteps

Fifty years ago this semester, Mississippi State College for Women (now Mississippi University for Women) admitted its first black students: three undergraduates and three graduate students. In Their Footsteps examines this milestone in segregationist Mississippi through the voices of the initial black students.

This exhibition is part of the Those Who Dared: Celebrating The W’s Pioneers campaign.
