As a four-year honors student, you begin your honors experience the minute you arrive on campus. Your Honors Peer Mentor will help you transition to the college experience and you will begin to develop your academic community with your honors classmates and faculty in honors courses. Students in our residential program go to class together and study together and socialize in Grossnickle, our honors residence hall.

You will also have a range of high-impact experiences, from study abroad to service learning. Finally, as a senior, you will work with your faculty mentors to conduct and present your own original research.

As soon as you arrive at The W as a transfer student, you can plug into our community of other highly motivated students, explore honors classes that complement your major or consider study abroad/away, and develop strong relationships with faculty. This sets you on course to complete their own original research, take advantage of pre-professional and leadership development opportunities, and graduate on time with honors.

The Honors College's annual summer study abroad program (mid-May to mid-June) is open to all honors students. The experience of traveling, living, and learning in the host country is transformative as students see new places, experience a different culture, and reflect on the experience while completing four credit hours of coursework related to the destination country.

Program destinations have included England, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, and Peru. The 2024 destination is Spain.
