COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Throughout the summer Mississippi University for Women has held orientation sessions for new students and their family to begin their experience at Mississippi University for Women.

“Orientation gives students the opportunity to connect before they arrive,” said Kendall Robertson, assistant director of student life.

For both incoming freshmen and transfer students, orientation is a program that introduces students to the opportunities and services available at The W, as well as academic programs. At this time, they also receive a university ID and enroll for the upcoming fall semester.

Orientation is not limited to students. A family/parent orientation will accompany the student orientation sessions with programming specifically designed for needs of parents and family members.

The final Transfer Orientation for this summer is Monday, July 10, and Freshman Orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 11.

Before attending an orientation session, students should be admitted to the university and register online at www.muw.edu/orientation/register.

For more information about the orientation sessions, please contact the Office of Student Life at (662) 329-7350.
