COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women will roll out the welcome mat as part of Move In Day Saturday, Aug. 19, which starts around noon.

New and returning students will be greeted by faculty, staff and students. Routes have been designed to reduce traffic bottlenecks and to speed up the process.

Move In Day will also offer the opportunity for students and parents to visit campus to get answers to any questions they may have. Offices such as the bookstore and financial aid will be open.

The Office of Student Life, along with other departments, will present Blues Week, a series of events to help new students ease into college life.

Some of those activities include Blue-Rally, community service projects, New Student Serenade, Late Night Breakfast, Social Club & Greek Life Ice Cream Social and a mud volleyball tourney. The full Blues Week schedule is available at http://www.muw.edu/bluesweek.

Classes begin Thursday, Aug. 24.

For additional information about Move In Day, please call Andrew Moneymaker, director of the Office of Housing and Residence Life, at (662) 329-7127.
