Dr. Mary Helen Ruffin

The faculty, staff, and I are pleased that you are interested in learning about the Associated of Science in Nursing (ASN) program at The W. Since its inception in 1971, the Associate Degree Nursing faculty has been committed to providing high-quality nursing education to both men and women with diverse backgrounds. Our program was the first associate degree nursing program in the state to achieve national accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (Formerly the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission).

We work diligently to provide our students with evidence-based instruction, challenging clinical experiences, and support for success throughout the academic experience. Our students are immersed in an innovative learning environment with state-of-the-art classroom technology, interactive hands-on simulation laboratories, and dedicated faculty members. Collectively, our faculty has over 200 years of clinical nursing experience!

Over 1,600 nurses, working in 48 states across the country are W ASN graduates.  I hope you will consider joining this special group of nurses who are fully equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe, effective patient-centered care in various clinical settings.  If you would like additional information regarding the ASN program, please contact us at (662) 329-7311, toll free (877) 462-8439, ext. 7311.

I hope to hear from you soon,

Dr. Mary Helen Ruffin
