Student Organizations

Greek Life & Social Clubs at The W

Social organizations provides a loyal and supportive community in which students can cultivate new leadership skills, academic discipline, event planning, financial responsibility, and social networking skills. Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) at The W serves as the representative body for student needs by being the liaison between students and campus administrators and advocating for student satisfaction and success at MUW.  View the SGA website.

The W Leadership Program

Community Service

The Office of Community Service recruits volunteers from the student body, networks with service agencies in the community that need volunteers, matches and places volunteers with an agency of their choosing. Visit the Community Service website.

The W Traditions

With a rich history and passionate W family, traditions have developed since the inception of Mississippi University for Women. Upcoming Student Life Events

  • Blues Week- Organization Fair Mon. 20 Aug, 2018 (2:00 pm - 4:00 pm) Find your place on our campus and in our community as you learn about all the student organizations and featured campus offices at our annual fair. You will also get to interact with local businesses to learn about their services. 
  • Blues Week-Ody Showdown Game Show Mon. 20 Aug, 2018 (7:00 pm - 9:00 pm) Check out The W's version of classic game shows as part of Ody's Showdown! Win big with cash prizes when you are the lucky contestant that knows the most W trivia and traditions. Event hosted by Bayleigh Vick and sponsored by the Student Programming Board and the Office of Development & Alumni. 
  • Blues Week-Service Day Tue. 21 Aug, 2018 (2:00 pm - 5:00 pm) Give back to the community as part of this traditional Blues Week event. Students, faculty, and staff will work with the United Way of Lowndes County and local non-profit agencies to learn about the community and provide valuable service. Transportation, supplies, and water will be provided for volunteers. Those interested in assisting, on-site sign up will take place in the Hogarth W Room starting at 1:30 PM on August 21. 
  • Blues Week-Late Night at the Rec Tue. 21 Aug, 2018 (7:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
  • Blues Week-RHAve Tue. 21 Aug, 2018 (9:00 pm - 11:00 pm) Feel the Glow…come out and join RHA with a live DJ and kick off the semester right!
