Rich Sobolewski

Web Communications Director

Rich joined the University Relations staff in 2012 as the University Webmaster, and currently serves as Web Communications Director.

Prior to The W, Rich worked in television for the CBS affiliate in Knoxville, TN and the NBC affiliate in Chattanooga, TN, where he held positions in the newsroom, sales, and in management.

Rich has received numerous awards for his work, including: 2 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, 3 Tennessee Associated Press Broadcaster Awards, 16 College Public Relations Association of Mississippi Awards, and a Golden Press Card Award from the East Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists. At The W he serves on the Campus Technology Advisory Committee and the Quality Enhancement Plan marketing subcommittee.

He holds a B.S. in Communication, a M.B.A. with an emphasis in Global Commerce, and is currently working on a M.F.A. in Creative Writing, all from The W.
