Eudora Welty Writers' Symposium 

October 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2015

The theme for this year's symposium is "''This Very Leap in the Dark': New Beginnings in Southern Letters" which is inspired by Eudora Welty's essay "Words into Fiction" from her collection of essays The Eye of the Story..

Randolph Thomas won the Gerard Cable Award for his debut collection of poems The Deepest Rooms. These finely crafted narratives weave together multiple perspectives to create a family history and survey the Southern landscape from Thomas’s native Virginia to Baton Rouge, where he now teaches writing at Louisiana State University. Thomas is also the author of the story collection, Dispensations, which won the Many Voices Project Award.The Deepest Rooms cover
