Representations of feminine beauty have long been a mainstay of art.

Many times, the viewer accepts the artist’s concept of beauty without questioning the artist’s personal biases, intention, or even world view. This exhibition hopes to provoke the viewer to analyze the concept of feminine beauty through artworks from the permanent collection.

The Mississippi University for Women Galleries, located on the first floor of Summer Hall, are open Monday through Wednesday and Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., with extended hours on Thursday from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., following the university calendar. The Galleries and the gallery talks are free and open to the public.
