In this exhibition, Lauren Cardenas will feature an installation that investigates the duality of comfort and discomfort in human experience.

Using a bed as a stage for the unconscious to play—whether through dreams, nightmares, or memories—it is a site of human vulnerability. Cardenas is an assistant professor of printmaking at the University of Mississippi.

The Mississippi University for Women Galleries, located on the first floor of Summer Hall, are open Monday through Wednesday and Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., with extended hours on Thursday from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., following the university calendar. The Galleries and the gallery talks are free and open to the public.
