Interdisciplinary Studies
Do you feel limited by the curriculum of a single major? Would you like to design your own curriculum to link together separate academic interests? If so, then the Interdisciplinary Studies (IS) major may be for you. For self-motivated students, who like the idea of tailoring their own degree, IS is a great solution.
All students complete IS 499 Capstone in their senior year, which requires an original research project that results in an article-length essay, combining at least two of their discplines.
Students in the major combine academic work in two or three of the following disciplines:
Art (studio) |
Art History |
Biological Sciences |
Business |
Chemistry |
Communication |
Culinary Arts |
English |
Family Studies |
Film Studies |
French |
Geography |
Health & Kinesiology |
History |
Legal Studies |
Mathematics |
Music |
Philosophy |
Political Science |
Psychology |
Religious Studies |
Spanish |
Theatre |
Women’s Studies |
