American Studies Minor
The American Studies minor at The W encourages students to explore the society, culture, and history around them. American Studies is interdisciplinary, which mans that it requires students integrate various fields of inquiry relating to American peoples and the American past. By approaching American culture from a variety of perspectives and disciplines, we create a fuller picture of what America is. The 18-credit hour minor includes three major categories of study—history, society, and culture—with equal credit hours required from each section.
In addition to completing 18 credit hours from courses in the three categories of history, society and culture, a cumulative average of C or better is required. Of these selections (18 credits), 6 hours must be at the 300 level or above. To count towards the minor all classes must have a final grade of D or above.
