Human Resources Management Concentration

Business Administration, BBA

Keeping Businesses Moving

The Human Resource Management concentration is designed to equip students with the necessary tools to enter an HR career in a variety of business settings. If you are interested in interacting with people daily and are a successful problem solver, you may enjoy studying human resource management.

Every organization wants to attract, motivate, and keep qualified employees. Human resource managers help make this happen. They work with multiple department managers to implement sound HR practices. They oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff. They design, organize, and carry out training and development programs and establish best practices for ensuring that employees are treated fairly and compensated appropriately.

Human resource professionals are also often tasked with choosing between benefits vendors, insurance brokers, and investment managers and spend a great deal of time fielding employee questions about pay and benefits such as vacation, medical leave, and retirement packages.
