Speech-Language Pathology Summer Camps

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology will offer two summer camps for children this summer. Camp TnT (Talking in Turner) is for children ages 5-10 using AAC devices. Camp LIT (Literacy in Turner) is for children ages 6-10 (just completed 1st -4th grades) with a focus on those who are struggling with reading and/or have been diagnosed with dyslexia.

Speech & Hearing CenterThe Speech & Hearing Center is located on the beautiful and historic Mississippi University for Women campus at the corner of 11th Street South and 5th Avenue South. The Center is operated as a component of the Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology and offers the following types of services:

  • Speech and Languages Services - evaluations and individual and/or group therapy for children and adults
  • Audiological Services - Evaluations hearing aid consultations and maintenance
  • Both Speech/Language and Audiologic consultation to clients, parents, professionals, and school districts


Services are provided by graduate students under the direct supervision of faculty who hold the CCC-SLP or CCC-A.

A speech, language, or hearing evaluation identifies problem areas in communication. Services are available with a speech-language pathologist for individuals with speech-language problems and with an audiologist for individuals with hearing problems.
