A Practical Minor for a Digital World

In the 21st century, the value of communicating information and data is a high priority for almost every profession. The Digital Studies minor focuses on these skills by giving students (from any major) an opportunity tell their own story, solve a problem they’ve identified, or ask a unique question using a digital platform. The minor allows students from any discipline to use the coursework for their major to learn about representing objects, people, and content in a digital environment; create a project related to their major and share it with potential employers or graduate schools; and gain hands-on experience with digital tools that manipulate, visualize, translate data and digital artifacts. This minor does not require any prior experience with coding or computer science!
