Conversation - What is Happening with Student Engagement?

College is difficult - and while student anxiety and disengagement are not new, many of the challenges and difficulties that our students are faced with are. This session is meant as a start to a broader conversation about what we've seen and heard from students as we navigate a rapidly changing world. This session will focus on sharing observations and providing collegial support.

Join us in the KCTL Lounge for the end of September sessions, where we'll provide light snacks and support for inputting mid-term grades and submitting book adoptions. We'll be hosting Wednesday (9/28) from 1 pm to 4 pm and Friday (9/30) from 8 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 4 pm.

Join us for a workshop on Canvas and creating a digital space that is accessible for every student! Dr. Sheila Morgan (Instructional Designer, KCTL) will provide an overview of creating a considerate Canvas course as well as provide faculty with a few tips to make Canvas easier for students to work with.

Office for Student Affairs: "The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) Process"

Join us for a panel on the Behavioral Intervention Team's process for working through submitted reports with the BIT. Jess Harpole (Vice President for Student Affairs) and the panel will answer questions ranging from submission of reports to how reporters can best engage with the BIT process.

Office of Undergraduate Research Panel: "Undergraduate Research in a Semester"

Join us for an informative panel facilitated by Hillary Richardson (Coordinator for the Office of Undergraduate Research) featuring Dr. Davida Crossley (Sciences & Mathematics), Dr. Cecilia Brooks (Psychology & Family Sciences), and Dr. Allene Nichols (English). This panel and discussion will focus on problems and solutions to integrating research assignments and experiences for students over the course of the semester.

Degreeworks Walkthrough and Advising Discussion

Join us for a review of Degreeworks (our academic advising system at the W) with registrar, Shannon Lucius. We will also discuss upcoming support opportunities for faculty advisors and the transition of Faculty Advising from the Student Success Center to the Kossen Center for Teaching & Learning. 

Registration is not required for in person attendance, but encouraged! If you would like to attend digitally, all KCTL workshops will be streamed live and recordings will be posted to this page and after your registration you will receive a zoom link to the streamed event.
