Update January 26, 2022- President Nora Miller has released a video message to the university.

We are in our first full week of the Spring Semester, and hopeful that the Omicron variant has already peaked for Mississippi. I want to thank our students, faculty and staff for following our health and safety protocols, and encourage everyone to keep at it!

It’s important to wear your mask securely, covering your nose and mouth, and the type mask you wear is important, too. N-95 or KN-95 masks offer the most protection, with double surgical masks or surgical masks offering more protection than regular loth masks.

Early on in this pandemic, we said that here at The W ALL employees are essential – and that remains true today, too. We don’t have a lot of depth in our offices, so when someone gets sick, that may bring down the entire office. Remember, you may have a “pod” of people who are together most of the time, but then we go home to our families, and they have been in contact with other during the day, too. Those degrees of separation become degrees of contact.

Our Campus Renewal Taskforce will continue to monitor conditions in our community to determine the necessary protocols. This is not forever.

Stay strong and stay safe. We are in this together. MASK UP!
